Join the Knowledge Café: Exploring Feedback

Come along for an interactive Knowledge Café focused on the art and practice of feedback in sign language interpreting. This is a collegial space to connect with peers, share experiences, and explore what makes feedback useful, respectful, and genuinely growth-oriented.

What to expect

Real-world scenarios to unpack tricky feedback moments (giving and receiving).

Practical strategies for feedback conversations: timing, tone, specificity, and follow-up.

A chance to reflect on power, roles, and relationships (mentor, colleague, team interpreter, student, supervisor).

Tools and language you can take straight back to the workplace, including feed-forward and strengths-based framing.

Whether you’re an experienced practitioner or newer to the profession, you’ll leave with sharper feedback skills and more confidence to navigate uncomfortable conversations with clarity and care.

Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today.
Ideal for interpreters wanting practical professional development and stronger, healthier team practices.

Building Stronger Beginnings: Novice Interpreter Roundtable is an in-person consultation for student and novice interpreters to share what helps (and what hinders) the transition into real-world practice.

Together we’ll identify the top support needs, map what’s within a novice interpreter’s control, and clarify what needs to shift at a system level. Insights will be anonymised and written up into a short report to share with relevant stakeholders such as agencies, training providers, and professional associations.

Have your say, prioritise needs, and shape recommendations for stakeholders.
