Our Commitment to Transparency and Integrity
The Ewe & Me Fund was established to honour Bev Sloan’s legacy of generosity, mentorship, and professional excellence. To uphold Bev’s values, we are committed to strong governance, ethical practices, and open communication with our supporters and applicants.
How We Operate
Selection Process
All applications are reviewed by a dedicated Selection Committee, comprising experienced interpreters and Deaf Community representatives.
Applications are anonymised and assessed using clear eligibility and merit-based criteria, ensuring fairness and alignment with the fund’s purpose.
Recipients are chosen based on demonstrated need, commitment to professional growth, and potential impact on the interpreting and Deaf communities.
Financial Management
The fund is managed through a dedicated bank account and all financial transactions will be recorded and reported annually.
We are committed to financial transparency, and an Annual Report outlining income, expenditures, and awarded grants will be published each year.
Administrative costs are kept minimal to ensure that the majority of funds go directly to supporting interpreters.
Policies and Ethics
All committee members adhere to a Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Policy, protecting the integrity of the selection process and safeguarding applicant information.
We have a clear Decision-Making Process that ensures consistency and accountability in all governance activities.
A Succession and Continuity Plan is in place to maintain stability and long-term sustainability of the fund.
Accountability
We welcome feedback from donors, recipients, and the broader community to help improve our processes.
Regular updates on fund activities, including recipient stories and impact reports, will be shared via our website and social media.
